Oregon Impact Fund
Project type
Building Projects
Location
Oregon
Description: This fund lends to nonprofit organizations, tribal enterprises and for-profit social ventures in Oregon that create quantifiable impact in the areas of affordable housing, education, health care access, natural resource management and job creation in underserved communities. The $30 million fund was created by combining $15 million in donor commitments and $15 million in Oregon Community Foundation endowment funds. This fund targets those with an income of about 60% AMI and offers loan terms of five to seven years at a 1% return. About 60% of the loan goes to housing, predevelopment, preacquisition and land banking. As of January 2023, the fund has made 34 investment commitments across multiple sectors.
What makes it different: Although the fund primarily focuses on intermediaries with a proven track record of social impact and repayment of investment funds, it will also consider direct investments in individual projects or newer intermediaries that strategically address Oregon’s opportunity gaps or advance the portfolio’s reach into underserved corners of the state.
